Planning Your Time

Charankako Bay is open 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM, Monday through Saturday. Most cruise ships arrive in the morning and depart in the late afternoon, giving you a full day on the property.

Getting Here from the Port

Transport options from both ports to Charankako Bay include taxis and tour operator shuttles. Ask your cruise line’s shore excursion desk or arrange a taxi at the port.

What to Book in Advance

If you want to do horseback riding, kayaking, or snorkeling, book at least 3 hours in advance so the team can prepare. The following are walk-in friendly (no reservation needed):

Tips for Cruise Ship Visitors

  • Arrive early to maximize your time, especially if coming from Port Mahogany
  • Book advance activities (horseback, kayaks, snorkeling) before you dock if possible
  • Bring cash or a credit card for food, snacks, and add-on activities
  • Bring your own towel and sunscreen (not provided)
  • Wear water shoes for the ironshore areas and rocky beach entry points
  • Check your ship’s departure time and allow extra travel time back to the port
